(Studio) 1400 arrested during riots and protests against government and its relations with US.
REPORTER: Frank Reynolds
(Tokyo, Japan) 25,000 riot police on patrol. Students use guerrilla tactics with Molotov cocktails, stones, and sticks. City almost closed. People want government to crack down on rioters. Rioters want: Okinawa returned to Japan; US-Japan security treaty ended; and Vietnam war ended. Violence shown.
