New York Italian consulate said center for Italian-American families desiring information on earthquake's effect on their relatives. [Carmine BUFFALINO and Michael MARRA - comment.] Alitalia airlines said flying people with Italian passports to and from earthquake area back to Italy on standby basis without charge. [Alitalia Antonitta INCOGNITO - comments.] Messages from Italy said coming via ham radio operators. [Ham operator Arnold SCHIFFMAN - comments.] Mayor of Florence, Italy, quoted with regard to need for money to provide housing for survivors.
