[MUSKIE - says he supports present foreign policy of President Carter and Secretary Cyrus Vance.] [Senator Richard LUGAR - asks for Muskie's opinion on Iran hostage crisis.] [MUSKIE - responds.] Use of hearing by some Senators to send Carter message about national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski noted. [Senator Frank CHURCH, Joseph BIDEN - comment on President and Brzezinski.] Jesse Helms noted only Senator voting against Muskie. [HELMS - comments.] Final vote detailed. Senator Gordon Humphrey reported voting against Muskie in final tally.
