(Studio) Conspiracy trial for 8 VVAW members in 2nd day of jury selection. Early in trial, 2 FBI agents discovered in closet adjoining room used by defense attys. Caught with telephone equipment, agents say they were making routine check of telephone connections.

(Gainesville, Florida) Judge Winston Arnow refuses to impound equipment found on agents and limits questions by defense attys. Defense cnsl. Larry Turner calls for full hearing with regard to incident, but motion for mistrial denied. Judge refuses motion by defendant William Patterson who asked for probe by Senate Watergate committee [PATTERSON - states Congress is only branch of government that can stop what's happening in trial with executive and legislature consent.] Many supporters don't believe FBI agents involved in routine telephone line check. Defense not satisfied with Judge Arnow. Believes bias towards government evident.
