(Studio) Reports from Phnom Penh say government troops and Communist troops engaged in hand to hand combat south of Phnom Penh. Situation worsens.

(Phnom Penh, Cambodia) Govt. employees must comprise home defense force as insurgents draw closer to Phnom Penh. 1st draft law put in effect include all men to age 35. Training for guard is basic. Movies reflect fighting and death in Cambodia. Blood for wounded in short supply. Soldiers in capital required to donate blood every 3 mos. Govt. hasn't issued casualty figures since insurgent onslaught, but estimated high. New Cambodian forces not expected to help existing forces in fight.
