(Minneapolis, Minnesota) Report with regard to Steven Pullens, who was rejected by United States Air Force Academy because he has sickle cell trait, given. Trait said not same as sickle cell anemia. [Wayne State University Dr. Charles WHITTEN - claims trait would not necessarily prove hazardous to Pullens while training at high altitudes of Academy.] [Air Force Surgeon General Lieutenant General Paul MYERS - describes risk to Pullens and Air Force equip.] [Sickle cell researcher University of Illinois Dr. Paul HELLER - says blacks with sickle cell trait are being presumed to have the disease.]
