(Studio) Logistics of John McMillian's effort to shift cost of gas pipelines from private investors to public consumers detailed. [Senator Howard METZENBAUM - is against line.] [Representative Tom CORCORAN - calls it rip-off.] Prominent Democrats and Republicans said essentially bought by McMillian to ease bill through Congress Ronald Reagan, Peter Hannaford, Mike Deaver, Richard Allen, Walter Mondale, Robert Strauss, White, Fine and Verville law firm, and Charles Manatt, said involved. Pol. contributions by McMillian noted. Many large companies listed as contributors to McMillian scheme. [METZENBAUM - cites instance of political contribution affecting one senator. [CORCORAN - chgs. consumers being rooked.] Pol. parties said up for sale.
