(Studio) Mayor Ed Koch reported losing Democrat gubernatorial nomination to Mario Cuomo.

(NYC) [CUOMO, KOCH - note winning is better than losing.] Crux of Cuomo's campaign against Koch said basis of race against Republican candidate Lewis Lehrman. [CUOMO - considers Reaganomics a disaster.] [KOCH - won't speculate on loss.] Koch's recent interview in "Playboy" magazine, in which he made disparaging remarks about suburbs and upstate New York, thought possibly contributing to his loss. Possible impact of Lebanon massacres on Koch's campaign considered.
