(DC) Possible Iranian connection to yesterday's bombing of Marine compound in Beirut, Lebanon, examined; information recently gathered by US intelligence outlined on screen. United States said believing bombing was masterminded by Hussein Mussawi, Shiite Moslem fanatic loyal to Ayatollah Khomeini; Mussawi's followers noted claiming responsibility for April 1983 bombing of United States embassy in Beirut and sniper attacks against Marines. Factors indicating Mussawi's link with Iranian intelligence detailed. Questions arising from apparent lax security around Marines in Beirut in light of United States intelligence's knowledge of Mussawi's actions and intentions discussed; Berlin barrier shown as illustrating type of security not visible in Beirut. [Senator John WARNER - feels security was inadequate.] [Senator Sam NUNN - questions Pentagon's planning for medical emergency in Beirut.] Marine commandant P.X.
