(DC) Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger's allegation that Syrian-sponsored Iranian terrorists were responsible for last month's bombing of Marine compound in Beirut, Lebanon, examined. [WEINBERGER - claims Iranians backed by Syria were responsible.] Diplomatic implications of Weinberger's public accusation today and Syria's response to bombing outlined on screen, discussed. Syria's claim of USSR military backing noted; alleged reaction of Moscow to attack on Marines and PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) chairperson Yasir Arafat's current plight mentioned. President Reagan, developing new strategic relationship with Israel, noted meeting today with Israeli President Chaim Herzog; film shown.
