(Studio) Secretary of State George Shultz noted meeting Lebanon's foreign minister today regarding Israeli troop withdrawal from region; his meeting tomorrow with Israeli foreign min. Yitzhak Shamir mentioned.

(DC) [Lebanese foreign minister Elie SALEM - hopes for progress with talks.] President Bashir Gemayel noted asking President Reagan to continue pushing for total withdrawal of all Israeli troops; Lebanon's fear that United States is backing away from commitments explained. [SALEM - believes Mideast peace is possible if Lebanon's situation is resolved soon.] Shamir said presenting Shultz with new ideas regarding Israeli troop withdrawal.
