(Studio) Senator approves legislature allowing government to take control of Nixon's White House tapes and documents; prevents destruction without Congress approval.

(Capitol Hill) Senator Gaylord Nelson author of bill. Senators Hugh Scott, Mike Mansfield, Roman Hruska comment on bill. Earlier, Senate Appropriations Committee chops $850,000 Nixon transition fund to $200,000 and places ceiling on salaries of Nixon staffers.
