(Studio) Ex-President Richard Nixon improving. Recs. get-well telegram from China P.R. Premier Chou En-lai. President Ford visits him.

(Long Beach, California) Crowd greets Ford at hospital. Dr. John Lungren escorts Ford to 7th floor. [FORD - says spent 8 minute with Nixon. Obvious he had been ill, but showed great deal of strength.] Aide Ronald Ziegler sees Ford off.

(Fresno, California) Hospital visit again reminds Republican candidates that Nixon made it possible for them to have Ford's political coattails.
