(Raleigh, North Carolina) Scheduled execution in August of Margie Velma Barfield for several murders, include her mother's, examined; background to case reviewed. Photos shown. [BARFIELD - finds her actions nearly unbearable.] [Prosecutor Joe Freeman BRITT - believes Barfield is merciless killer.] [Defense attorney James LITTLE - has never been optimistic.] Billy Graham's wife said among those corresponding with Barfield in prison. [BARFIELD - blames her crimes on drugs.] [Governor James HUNT - can't comment on clemency request.] Possible impact on Barfield's fate of Hunt's Senate race with Jesse Helms considered.
