(DC) Kidnapping last week of DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agent Enrique Camarena Salazar in Guadalajara, Mexico, recalled; his continued disappearance noted. Mexican pilot, a friend of Camarena's and believed an informant, said kidnapped on same day in Guadalajara. [DEA spokesperson John LAWN - describes attack on DEA agent.] [US spokesperson Alan RODGERS - notes families of DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) personnel are advised to take security measures.] DEA's intensification of war on Mexican drugs and Camarena's investigations discussed. Similar drug war declared on United States agents in Colombia reviewed. [US ambassador to Mexico John GAVIN - remains committed to drug war.]
