(DC) Committee decides not to subpoena evidence needed from White House for impeachment investigation. Letter from President' lawyer, James Saint Clair, reveals President to cooperate with committee 's probe only to extent President deems necessary. Father Robert Drinan calls for subpoena of evidence requested by committee , but evidence not incld. in President' offer. Committee cnsls. John Doar and Albert Jenner advise against subpoena; chairperson Peter Rodino agrees. [DRINAN - believes House Judiciary Committee to make final decision on impeachment, not President or Saint Clair.] [RODINO - says committee won't be confined to investigate only areas defined by Saint Clair.] [DOAR - concedes committee to subpoena evidence if Saint Clair refuses to reconsider offer of cooperation.] [JENNER - agrees with Doar.]
