[Representative William COHEN - thinks staff actions responsible and nonpartisan.] [Representative Robert McCLORY - says Republicans happy to see charges narrowed to serious ones.] Message sent to White House by Republican members of committee insisting any screening of subpoenaed tapes to be joint effort by White House and committee cnsl. [McCLORY - states screening should be joint; final decision must be made by committee on relevant tapes.] House leader John Rhodes ready to break with President over matter.
