(Studio) House Interior Committee has measure before it with regard to federal regulations for strip mining. West Virginia has similar state law.

(Clarksburg, West Virginia) Strip mining areas of West Virginia shown. Mine operators must now restore land after mining coal in West Virginia. [Coal company Vice President Jess ANDERSON - says mining operators have learned to live with state law.] [Coal company Vice President Chick LOCKARD - reports incrd. reclamation.] Added costs of reclamation passed on to consumers. [Farmer, Charles MORROW - believes in reclamation, but wants mining companies to restore some areas with flat contour.]
