(NYC: Richard Schlesinger) Trial of Joel Steinberg, chgd. with murdering his adopted daughter Elizabeth Steinberg, discussed. Steinberg's attys. reported attempting to change his plea to not guilty for reasons of insanity. [Defense attorney Adrian DiLUZIO - bases his plea on Steinberg's ex- lover, Hedda Nussbaum's, testimony.] Nussbaum's testimony recalled. [Defense attorney Ira LONDON - comments on situation.] [New York Univ. Law School spokesperson Stephen GILLERS - says plea change is act of desperation.] Judge noted rejecting plea.
