(Moscow, USSR : Barry Petersen) V.I. Lenin's birthday observance featured. Mikhail Gorbachev shown seated next to politburo enemy Yegor Ligachev. Sources quoted with regard to Ligachev's political demise due to Gorbachev. Ligachev and other conservatives noted opposing Gorbachev's perestroika and glasnost policies. Conservatives noted also opposing criticism of Joseph Stalin. [Columbia Univ. spokesperson Jonathan SANDERS - comments on situation.] Ligachev reported stripped of power within politburo. [For. minister Eduard SHEVARDNADZE - (thru translator) denies that Ligachev being demoted.] Gorbachev's opponents in KGB and army reported neutralized through Ligachev's pol. demise.
