(Studio) Pentagon worker, Ernest Fitzgerald, to be out of job January 1 due to cost cuts. He revealed C-5A costs.

(DC) Fitzgerald testified 1 year ago on $2 billion cost overrun on C-5A to Senator William Proxmire's committee [Senator PROXMIRE - says Fitzgerald's firing is message to Defense Department workers not to speak out. Hold hearings to find out what Pentagon should do to keep public and Congress informed on excessive costs.] [FITZGERALD - says estimate could save $5 billion year without degrading our position. Not likely.]
