(Washington: Eric Engberg) Report in "New York Times" that Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney and Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Colin Powell have passed word to President Bush that the dominant view in the US military is that United States troops will not be ready for an attack against Iraq by January 15 deadline featured. [Military analyst retired Army Colonel Harry SUMMERS - says land forces are not ready for an offensive.] Hope that controversy over the deadline may keep Iraqi President Saddam Hussein jittery explained.
