(Studio) At 7:30 p.m. EDT, ABC to begin covering events. Report on White House mood.

(DC) Crowd shown in front of White House Telephones in Executive Office Building brought deluge of calls from those who couldn't be there. Light rain fell. [WOMAN - says it'll be fine if he says something to pull cntry. together. But it'll be bad for country if he says media hounded him out of office.] [2nd WOMAN - says good he's done offsets the bad.] [MAN - says he should have respected President' office.] [3rd WOMAN - says feels sorry for daughters because he lied to Americans] [2nd MAN - says system really works.]
