(Studio) Report on Nixon saying farewell to cabinet and staff.
REPORTER: Howard K. Smith

(DC) Nixon, and family enter room to applause. [NIXON - says best word for goodbye is "au revoir". Regrets not having had time to see each one individually. Talks tearfully of mother being saint and what she went through. Advises staff on how to continue work. Says those who hate you don't win unless you hate them. That destroys you.] Fords walk Nixons and Coxes to waiting copter. Eisenhowers stay behind. Nixon waves goodbye. Copter flies to Andrews Air Force Base for last ride on "Spirit of `76."
