(Moscow: Barry Petersen) Opening tomorrow of Communist party congress and its significance for President Mikhail Gorbachev and his policies of change featured; scenes shown of party delegates who may launch a conservative last stand. [DELEGATE - (thru translator) says there is a danger of regression.] The old days of the party and Premier Leonid Brezhnev recalled. [Soviet government adviser Sergei PLEKHANOV - says party is now more like a political party and less like a church.] Soviet society's fear of Gorbachev's call for a market economy explained. [Journalist Artiem BOROVIK - says there is panic as we move closer to free-market economy.]
