(Studio) Leon Jaworski says he accepts pardon. His number 3 man resigns.
REPORTER: Howard K. Smith

(DC) [Ex-assistant Watergate prosecutor Philip LACOVARA - says no comment.] He resigns. John Ehrlichman there to listen to tapes. E. Howard Hunt, free on appeal, also there. [HUNT - says surprised by pardon. Believes similar pardon should be issued to him and others.] Cover-up trial to start as scheduled and Nixon to be witness. Jaworski realizes grand jury frustrated and furious. Orders staff to close files on Nixon study. Nixon charges duplicated in others' trials.
