(Golden, Colorado: Scott Pelley) Radioactive waste cleanup problems featured; scenes shown; details given of radioactive waste spills at Hanford nuclear weapons plant in Washington state and Rocky Flats plant in Colorado. [Senator John GLENN - says there may be more we don't know that contractors are hiding.] Energy Department's statement that it is short on the money necessary to clean up thousands of waste sites reported. [Colorado department of health David SHELTON - says DOE may not be able to meet its commitments.] DOE's top environmental official Leo Duffy quoted as saying that the goal is maximum efficiency to make the cleanup economical.
