(Washington: Rita Braver) Details examined of a report in the "Washington Post" that top Republicans, including Vice President Dan Quayle, are calling for a pardon for former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger, who has been indicted for lying to Congress about Iran/Contra. [Representative Robert DORNAN - backs pardon.] Belief held by some that independent prosecutor Lawrence Walsh derailed President Bush's comeback in the reelection campaign by releasing new evidence linking Bush to the scandal reported. [In radio address, BUSH - opposes the blame game.] [Georgetown University Stephen WAYNE - says a pardon would be a travesty.]
