(Studio) FBI reports 19 serious crimes per minute in 1974.

(DC) 18% increases in crime in 1974. $2.6 billion lost in stolen property. 20,600 murdered; handguns accounted for 2/3 of reported homicides. [President Police Foundation Patrick MURPHY - says each part of American system blames the other. Someone must make system work.] Chance of becoming victim of crime up 30% since 1969.
