(White House: Rita Braver) President Clinton's walk across Pennsylvania Avenue to a meeting of law enforcement deputies sending a message that he is standing by them as they come under political attack by Congressional Republicans holding more hearings on the siege at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, outlined. [CLINTON - says it is irresponsible for people in elected positions to suggest the police are an armed bureaucracy with hidden agendas.] The role of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) and the involvement of the military in the Waco disaster examined. [ATF critic Robert SANDERS - comments.]
