(Congers, New York) Crothers family typical; details given. [Wendy CROTHERS - says few years ago, it was inconceivable they would make this much money and just barely get by.] [Mike CROTHERS - says total effect of economy slump on his life is like treading water.] Wendy now does baby sitting and works as Avon representative to supplement income. 17 year old Jeff ready for college and they must borrow money somewhere. [Wendy and Mike CROTHERS - feel they've been cheated somehow by economy situation. Hope American dream isn't dead.]
