(Studio) Air Force sergeant turns to Const. for protection against 1 of Air Force rules.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner

(Langley AFB, Virginia) sergeant Leonard Matlovich in Air Force 12 years; last Mar. he admitted to being homosexual, but fully capable of carrying out duties in Air Force. [Major Errol LOVING - says Matlovich's case being tried in connection with Air Force provision with regard to homosexuals; general policy against homosexuals explicit.] [MATLOVICH - says there's no reason homosexual can't serve in military Homosexuals want same rights as every other human being.] sergeant Matlovich resigned to fact he'll be discharged from Air Force; plans to take case into civilian courts and Supreme Court if necessary.
