(Studio) Doctors and employees trying to save Brooklyn hosp. from going broke.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner

(Brooklyn, New York) Famed Brooklyn Eye and Ear Hosp. has no cash and is more than $1 million in debt. [Eye surgeon Dr. Edwin BEERY - says without audit for `74, hosp. can't get reimbursement rates established for next year, but hosp. financially unable to pay for audit.] At recent staff meeting, all employees agree to work this week without pay to keep hosp. alive. [Resident, Dr. William RAND - says if Brooklyn Eye and Ear fails, it will be social and medical disaster for city and cntry.]
