(Studio) Apr. figures show decline in auto sales; imports holding their own - better gas mileage seems to be reason.

(NYC) Back in late 60's, auto sales charts reflected 5% sales increase each year; Detroit built plants and laid plans as if 5% increase would continue till 1980's. Several things threw wrench in plans incling. high gasoline prices, higher car prices, etc.
