(NYC) Fear and ignorance on part of mothers contributes to high infant mortality rate. [Eleanor CAMPBELL - says doesn't know why she lost babies.] She needed follow-up exams. [Lincoln Hospital Dr. SNEHANSHU GHOSH - says 1/2 of mothers come in to have babies after 9 mos.] [Luz CORDERO - says stopped taking drugs at 7th month] Baby suffers withdrawal symptoms. Awareness by all women of need for prenatal care necessary.
