(Central College, Pella, Iowa) College cost at Central College when this reporter attended was $1000; costs up 300%. Food costs up 58%; hsing. up 180%; salaries up 400%. [Central College president Ken WELLER - says biggest cost is salaries.] Small private schools hardest hit by cost squeeze. Last year, enrollment at private schools went up 5%. [Student Jeannine PARRENT - says she wanted smaller college with definite values.] [WELLER - says Watergate spawned by educated people but were educated by valueless education process.] Experts predict 32% jump in student costs in next 10 years
