(Studio) Plans for transition of government underway.

(Plains, Georgia) Mondales and Carters pose together for pictures. Both will take vacations now: Mondale in Virgin Island, Carter at Saint Simons Island off Georgia coast. Today meeting with regard to plans for transition. Mtg. with Carter and Mondale are south adviser Charles Kirbo, campaign treasurer Robert Lipshutz, campaign manager Hamilton Jordan, administration assistant Greg Schneiders and head of transition-planning team Jack Watson. [Press Secretary Jody POWELL - says 1st contacts have been made with White House; Watson has talked to Chief of Staff Richard Cheney.]
