(Tokyo: May Lee) The position of the Japanese government on the hostage crisis on the eve of the meeting of Japanese Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto with Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori in Canada examined. [HASHIMOTO - (thru translator) comments on the need for safety of the hostages.] The more assertive stance of the Peruvian government noted.
