Navy smallest since before Pearl Harbor; Army forces smallest since before Korean war; combined NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) forces in Europe have less than 1/2 tank forces than in Warsaw Pact. Reporter notes planned building of new tank by Chrysler Corporation Ford administration has given go-ahead on B-1 bomber production, but new administration may try to reverse this despite objections by Defense Department and proponents in Congress
