(Miami: Pat Neal) The US Immigration and Naturalization Services decision not to grant citizenship to Cuban refugee jazz musician Arturo Sandoval, who defected in 1990 and was granted political asylum, because of his membership in the Communist Party, examined. [SANDOVAL - recalls being invited to the White House; explains that he joined the party to set up his escape from Cuba.] [May 1993, President CLINTON - praises Sandoval.] [Representative Lincoln DIAZ- BALART - defends Sandoval's case.]
