(Studio) Gallup poll says Jimmy Carter would have beat Ford if president election held last week "Time" poll says Ford would have won. Illinois primary consists of elections for favorite candidate and for delegates.

(Illinois) Democratic candidates featured: Carter, George Wallace, Fred Harris and Sargent Shriver. [Media SPOKESPERSON - says can't find way to tell candidates apart. Illinois delegates will be bargainable.] Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley sponsors uncommitted list of delegates in name of Senator Adlai Stevenson. Representative Morris Udall and Senator Henry Jackson stay out of primary. [Illinois SPOKESPERSON - says delegate election is most important. Popularity contest means nothing.] Uncommitted number of delegates growing.
