(Studio) Judge Oliver Carter instructs jury with regard to law to be followed in Patricia Hearst case. Jury begins deliberation.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner
(San Francisco, California) Jury begins deliberations about 11:00 a.m. Judge Carter defines central issue: willing and vol. nature of Hearst actions. Mrs. Catherine Hearst breaks down into tears. F. Lee Bailey, James Browning comment. [BROWNING - says Hearst was actually kidnapped, but that grants no immunity.] [BAILEY - says Hearst is nervous.] Waiting begins.
