(Studio) President Suleiman Franjieh flees palace due to Moslem artillery. Goes to Christian town. Says he won't resign. Economic minister says famine threatens.
(Beirut, Lebanon) Many lose homes in recent fighting; others sleep in basements and corridors. At American University, 1 student killed; 3 hurt. 200 per day die in fighting. 30,000 civilians hurt in 11 mos. In mts., Socialist leader Kamal Jumblatt sends more men to front line. He and other allies say fighting to continue until Franjieh resigns. Pol. inactivity noted.
