(Studio) Report on Lou Harris-ABC poll with regard to Jimmy Carter's "ethnic purity" remark.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner
(Studio) 31% of Pennsylvania Democrats interviewed said Carter was more right than wrong to have made remark. 28% say he was more wrong; 41% not sure. Strong issues in Pennsylvania: inflation, jobs, crime and peace. Weak issues: Israel and aid to cities. Senator Henry Jackson did well with these issues in New York. Key to Pennsylvania results will be the effectiveness of union support of Jackson.
