(Studio) Alabama Governor George Wallace worked in Alabama last week
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner
(WI) [WALLACE - says he's bona fide presidential candidate. Other candidates are "johnny come latelys."] Wallace appears to be preparing to pull out of campaign. Wallace used Wisconsin media to gain support. Shown campaigning. Pol. funds running low. Wallace wants to stay in race so other candidates will focus on conservative issues and he wants say at Democratic convention [WALLACE - says as gets older, wants to do something besides run for President Platforms will emphasize getting off backs and pocketbooks of American middle class.] Wallace talks quietly and reasonably, as though he would like to be recalled that way in history books.
