(Studio) Report on Democratic party platform committee hearings.
REPORTER: Harry Reasoner

(DC) Felt that the Democrats can win `76 election if intramural bickering not allowed. [Chairperson Democratic party Robert STRAUSS - says Democrats brought Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford to the American people. Democrats won't make same mistake again.] Committee hears from 80 witnesses. [Senator Hubert H. HUMPHREY - says must make government work even if it means disbanding some programs.] [Senator Edmund MUSKIE - says platform can recognize the need for reform. What's so liberal about wasting money?] Only problem left is in writing platform.
