(Studio) Jimmy Carter and Morris Udall campaign in Ohio. Hubert Humphrey and Edward Kennedy attend birthday party and fund-raising dinner. Humphrey turned 65 yesterday.

(Minneapolis, Minnesota) Stop-Carter Democrats dream of Humphrey-Kennedy ticket. ABC News learns Kennedy is firm in decision not to run. Won't attend Democratic Convention [Brief video and audio difficulty here.] [HUMPHREY - praises Kennedy.] Kennedy said to have refrained from endorsing Humphrey as candidate. [KENNEDY - joins in what reporter calls "joshing."] Kennedy said to refuse to join in effort to stop Jimmy Carter or push Hubert Humphrey. Kennedy said concerned that Carter is vague on issues.
