(Studio) Commander of 5 North Provinces, incling. My Lai and Tu Cung villages, Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Lam, says villagers may be exaggerating. He absolves Americans of massacre.

(Tu Cung, South Vietnam) Villagers and American advisors haven't seen or heard any South Vietnam investigators. Americal Div. comments on alleged massacre. [sergeant Ken. SCHANKE - says can't believe it.] [Captain Paul LONGGREAR - says something is blown out of proportion.] [sergeant Rudolph WAGNER - calls it dastardly event. It could have happened.] Not known if it will hurt pacification program.
