REPORTER: Chet Huntley

(Los Angeles, California) $400,000 gifts and supplies probably won't reach POWs. Sponsor, Texas millionaire, H. Ross Perot, feels he can persuade North Vietnam not to send gifts through Soviet channels. He hopes to persuade North Vietnam to let him land cargo in Hanoi. [Daughter Mia Frances MEARNS - says it's good her daddy will get 1 of pkgs.] Families give Perot personal pkgs. to deliver. [PEROT - says hope we have good luck.] Plane departs.
