(Chicago, Illinois) Police with warrant go to apt. before dawn looking for weapons. Police say Panthers opened fire 1st. Fred Hampton and Peoria, Illinois leader killed. 6 wounded. Confiscated weapons shown. [State's Attorney Edward HANRAHAN - says Panthers shooting at announced police shows their viciousness, as does their refusal to quit firing. Commends police.] [Panther leader Bobby RUSH - says Hampton murdered in bed by "pigs."] Apt. shown; police hold 3 for questioning.
